The research report builds on previous work estimating the size and growth of the U.S. unauthorized immigrant population. A 2008 report concluded that the undocumented immigrant population grew rapidly between 1990 to 2006 but has stabilized since. In this new report it is estimated that the rapid growth of unauthorized immigrant workers has also stopped. The tables in the report break down the characteristics of the U.S. population, by Nativity and Mexican Birth [of 2008] as well as the housholds characteristcs and employment by industry and occupation.
