This study explores perspectives of nurse practicioners on health care needs among Latino children and families in the rural Southeastern United States, by interviews with nurse practicioners in the rural southeastern part of North Carolina. Although it is reported that the most commonly reported illnesses by Latino children are upper respiratory infections but language and cultural differences are health care barriers that do not allow them to prevent or treat infections. Even transportation and costs for health care are barriers to receive the care needed.
