At the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso, Texas, the programs are dedicated to improving health through the discovery of basic mechanisms of disease, development of new treatments, and translation of research findings to innovative medical practice. El Paso is an exceptional location to study the role of genetic factors in health and disease due to the population being relatively geographically isolated and geographically stable.
