This manual provides information about some of the demonstration projects initiated under The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Hospital-Based Rural Health Care Program. Although the Program represents only one small part of the many projects and research efforts currently under way in the arena of rural health care, both the Foundation and the sites funded by the Program believe they have gained valuable knowledge through their efforts-knowledge that might benefit other rural communities, hospitals, and providers.
