Every year the Department of Labor publishes a study of child labor on farms, on the basis of reports made by enforcement investigators who visit many farms each summer. These studies have reflected a steady improvement in compliance with the State's child labor laws since 1948, when the first study was made and when the Department of Labor began a regular program of enforcement to supplement its educational campaign.
