This article presents a brief overview of the educational needs of migrant children with emphasis on the needs of migrant students with disabilities. The article outlines some of the major ethical viewpoints underlying common practices in the schools and in the special education process. Discussing the potential impact of these supposition son migrant students with disabilities, the article introduces an alternative ethical framework based on principles of care and hospitality to help guide decision making and policy development. Providing an appropriate education for children with disabilities from migrant farmworker families is a complex challenge for special educators.
