Agricultural Labor Family Housing Study

Author: Dept of Industrial Relations for the State of CA
Date Published: 1961

Because of the farm labor shortage which existed during WW II, the California Legislature in 1943 created the Farm Production Council (FPC), giving its director the authority to provide for housing and sustenance of farm labor and for the facilities required by or in connection with the use of such labor. However, the present (1961) status of the housing and sustenance facilities is not known and no comprehensive study has been made of the present status of the FPC housing facilities nor of areas of migrant family housing needs and deficiencies. This research document delivers the need for a comprehensive study.
