Physical Activity Participation by Parental Language Use in 4th, 8th and 11th Grade Students in Texas, USA

This research study investigates the physical activity participation of Spanish-speaking, Hispanic children across three different grade levels. The study breaks Spanish-speakers/ Hispanic students into three different groups: Spanish-speaking Hispanics, English-speaking Hispanics and English speakers. The study found that English speakers were two times more likely to participate in physical activity, with the largest differences existing among 8th grade girls.
