This report details a survey on migratory workers in southern Texas during the winter of 1956-1957. It attempts to answer the questions: 1) whether the need for migration can be eliminated or substantially reduced by intensive recruitment of local labor, and 2) whether standards can be developed that will give this kind of employment a higher economic and social status.
