This study describes how lay knowledge of pesticides, when combined with technical information, provides valuable data to consider before developing health interventions designed to reduce the adverse health effects of pesticide exposure. It presents the findings that farmworkers have developed a detailed body of perceptions and lay knowledge about the occupational pesticides with which they work.
