This research paper estimates the demand of binational health plan comprising preventive and ambulatory care in the USA and comprehensive care in Mexico. The results show that 62% of the surveyed population were interested in the product, and 57% were willing to pay $75-125/month if services in Mexico were provided in public hospitals. However only 23% were willing to pay $150-250/month for the same plan if services in Mexico were offered through private providers. The strongest predictors of willingness to pay were having insured dependents in Mexico and sending them remittances for health purposes.
