This in-depth brief that examines medical insurance coverage among farmworkers in California. Through interviews, observation, and surveys, the findings of this study show that medical coverage was only moderate, mental, dental and vision coverage was rare, and few families had continuous health insurance coverage for at least six months for all members. Results are followed by a description of the obstacles to public and private coverage and policy recommendations.
