Pesticides As A Cause Of Occupational Skin Diseases In Farmers

Author: Spiewak, Radoslaw
Date Published: 2001

This study documents the relationship of pesticide use and skin disease among farmers. As skin is the most exposed organ while farmers spray pesticides, most pesticide-related dermatoses are contact dermatitis, both allergic or irritant, as well as hair and nail disorders and skin cancer. The study overviews the most common skin reactions to pesticide use, with a section for each condition that explains the prevalence in farmers and anecdotal literature reviews.
