The Association Of Dermatologist-Diagnosed And Self-Reported Skin Diseases With Skin-Related Quality Of Life In Latino Migrant Farmworkers

This research compares the association between skin-related quality of life and workers' self reports of skin conditions. From surveying 304 Latino farmworkers from North Carolina, the study shows that skin problems have a clinically significant impact on these farmworkers' quality of life. The largest predictors of quality of life were feet or skin fungus, rashes, itching and poison ivy and the association was stronger for self-reported skin conditions than with dermatologist-diagnosed conditions.
