Date Published: 2008
This article examined the effectiveness of randomized community intervention to reduce pesticide exposure among farmworkers and their children by conducting a baseline survey of a cross-sectional sample of farmworkers in 24 participating communities where urine was collected from farmworkers and children, and dust was collected from the home and vehicle driven to work. Over a period of 4 years, no significant decreases in urinary pesticide metabolic concentrations or in pesticide residue concentrations in house and vehicle from intervention community households was found in comparison to control community households.
