Hazard Communication (ComunicaciĆ³n de Riesgo)

Author: Oregon OSHA

This is a bilingual training manual for employers who have Hispanic workers that informs the workers of the hazards and identities of chemicals to which they are exposed and what they can do to protect themselves and prevent injuries and illnesses. The manual discusses the four parts of a Hazard Communication program, which includes a written program, material safety data sheets, labeling and information and training. The written program describes how the employer labels chemicals, explains about chemicals in pipes and lists the chemicals known to be present. The material safety data sheets explain what to do in case of emergency and labeling shows what containers hold. This manual also includes a tailgate and overhead materials.
