Measuring The Adjustment Of Immigrant Laborers

Author: Shannon, Lyle W.
Date Published: 1963

This academic paper is concerned with measuring the adjustment of predominantly immigrant Mexican-Americans into a predominantly Anglo Northern industrial community. Differences in income, occupational level, and living conditions are evaluated between Mexican-Americans and Anglos in the same community. Immigrants are considered integrated into the economy when they are moving up both the occupational hierarchy and income scale.
