This document discusses the often deplorable conditions experienced by migrant farmworkers, including economic, social and political aspects of life, particularly in South Texas. Topics include farmworker income, which ranks lowest in annual income of all the U.S.'s occupational groups, land ownership, positive legislation, housing, health, children, insurance and many more. Remaining topics cover all facets of farmworker life that need to be approved upon. Each year, Texas is the origin of the largest of the three streams of migratory farmworkers who travel north to harvest the Nation's crops, mostly fruits, vegetables, sugar beets and cotton. The main stream flows north and west from Texas, covering most of the North Central, Mountain and Pacific Coast States before the end of the harvest season in December.
