Typically, jobs that are high in physically-demanding labor such as construction, farming, fishing and mining tend to have the highest accident and fatality rates. Those working in these sectors, particularly those of Hispanic origin, do experience higher rates of accidents when compared to workers of other backgrounds. This paper analyses six different studies that reveal the types of risk factors associated with health and safety outcomes. It concludes that there is a need for educational training and interventions that promote health and safety risks.
