Many Americans are curious as to how and why millions of Hispanic people are
coming the United States to work in our factories and on our farms. Are these immigrants and migrants taking jobs away from American citizens? What kinds of rights do the Hispanic workers have? And how has their position in the U.S. labor force has affected agriculture and farmwork policy? To answer these important questions, this study describes the findings of interviews conducted on several experts in the field of migrant farmwork including two Adams County farm owners, a Legal Services attorney, a representative from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, and a migrant crewleader. The following are short biographies introducing my informants. Their stories and experiences are used throughout the paper to access and understand the many viewpoints regarding migrant farmwork and labor in the United States today.
