This lesson plan is part of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute’s (NHLBI) heart attack education campaign, Act in Time to Heart Attack Signs. It was designed to be the 10th session of an existing 9-sesson heart health education course for Latinos entitled Your Heart, Your Life. It includes a Spanish-Language (not available) video and culturally-appropriate teaching materials. Although the lesson plan was designed for use by Latino lay health educators, known as promotores, it can be taught by anyone serving Latino communities, and is available in Spanish or English for bilingual audiences.
