This booklet highlights the findings of a year's study of migrant farm workers in New York State. The unparalleled conditions of these workers have long been a concern of the Consumers League of New York. In 1944 and again in 1945 surveys of migrant labor camps were made under the leadership of the late Florina Lasker, then president of the League. The study focusses on recruitment and employment of migrant workers, their wages, working conditions, legislation, child care, and why migrants are needed.
