This paper discusses distinctions made by married Mexican women in the USA and Mexico between withdrawal and rhythm methods of traditional family planning, as well as between women who use these traditional methods and those who use more modern ones. Findings derive from an ethnographic study of gender and reproductive health in a Mexican transnational community.
