The charts are designed to provide a "snapshot" of the demographic and health characteristics of the Hispanic population and Hispanic subgroups at the beginning of the new century. They are divided in to 3 main sections: Demographic data from the US Bureau of the Census; Data on health access and utilization, health status, chronic conditions, and risk factors from the National Health Interview Survey and the Behavioral Risk Factors Surveillance System; and Natality and mortality data from the National Vital Statistics System.
