This video looks at the needs of colonias in Texas by assessing needs, and current conditions colonias are facing. Texas A&M Center for Housing and Urban Development builds two community centers and uses the residents of the community to build it as well as students with the university. The community centers will have auditoriums for classes on nutrition and cooking, sewing, and education on Hispanic culture, history, and language-English. The community centers will also have room for medical and dental services. The colonias take a lot of pride in these projects and volunteer wherever needed to improve their community.
