Despite the alarming health risks among this population, migrant farmworkers are often uninsured and may not even have access to the most basic of preventive health services. While many farmworkers do qualify for Medicaid, many are unable to navigate a complex process to become enrolled, and those that do still face barriers in retaining that coverage when they move out-of-state.
