Author: Poss, Jane E.
Date Published: 2003

Approximately 4.2 million migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their families work in the United States, and 1.6 million are classified as migrants. Migrant farmworkers are known to have more health problems than the general population, and they lack dependable access to health care services. Little is known about the status of farmworkers in the area surrounding El Paso, Texas. This report examines the results of a survey of the demographic and health characteristics of 150 migrant farmworkers in West Texas and Southern New Mexico.
