Migrant Farmers in the U.S.

Author:
Date Published: 1992

This video is about the Helsinki Summit/Conference. It is about opportunities, safety, and rights of migrant farmworkers. The migrant clinics serve the vulnerable. An average farmworker makes $7500 or less a year, and only 18% are recipients of health care. Most farmworkers don’t receive health care delivery for fear of losing jobs. With their seasonal schedules, it is hard for the workers to get health care. The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) set up new regulations for protection from pesticide exposure. Available in DVD format.
