Blue Ridge Community Health Services

Author:

The video is about getting the right kind of medical treatment at an affordable price since most of the patients don't have insurance. In 1962, the Migrant Council began a clinic for seasonal workers. An expansion in 1988 started a year round health center. The main focus for the clinic is prevention and treatment for families. They treat for acute and chronic illnesses, pediatric, dental, nutrition, psychological, and etc. Midwives play a big role in acting as physician and also delivering babies. The clinic also provides counseling and education for substance abuse among other things. The clinic receives the majority of its funding from grant revenues and community contributions. Available in DVD format.
