Multivariate analytic models are applied to assess the influence on health status and health services of a subset of social, economic and environmental characteristics and social program participation, previously subjected to bivariate analysis. This provides the basis of examining the effect of a wide range of variables taking into account confounding among the variables. The major differences found in the bivariate analysis between Mexican-American and Haitian migrant children led to separate analyses of theses two subgroups. The small sample of black children (N=45), precluded separate consideration in the regression models.
