Determinants of Health Status of Migrant Children: Preliminary Results.

In an effort to identify factors affecting major health problems in migrant children and issues related to health care access and utilization, a household survey was carried out on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia during the summer of 1986. This preliminary report will present information on survey and data collection methods used in the study, provide a profile of sociodemographic characteristics of migrant children with a limited comparison with other ethnic subgroups in the U.S., describe specific indicators of health status based on household as well as record data with a background of health statistics from other non-migrant groups of .children and describe general utilization characteristics.
