Identifying Constituents to Participate in a Project to Control Pesticide Exposure in Children of Farmworkers

Author: Thompason, Beti
Date Published: 2001

Researches in this study designed a project to reduce children's exposure by using a community organizational model. To better understand the community views regarding pesticide exposure, a qualitative community analysis was conducted. The group noted it was important to emphasize that the research project could provide scientific information on pesticide exposure to everyone in the Lower Yakima Valley. The study demonstrates both the widely varying views of different constituents around the issue of pesticide exposure and common themes that can form the basis for collaboration and consensus on approaching the issue.
