This report presents data by state, Census region, and Census division for all youth fatalities on U.S. farms between 1982 and 1996. Drawn from the Vital Statistics Mortality files of the National Center for Health Statistics, data indicates that nearly 2,200 youth were fatally injured on farms during this 15-year period and that the leading causes of death varied considerably across geographic areas.
