The goal of the case studies in environmental medicine (CSEM) is to increase the primary care provider's knowledge of hazardous substances in the environment and to aid in the evaluation of potentially exposed patients. After completion of this educational activity, the reader should be able to discuss three important reasons for taking an exposure history, explain the process of taking an exposure history, and list two sources of information on exposure history.
