This book is a collection of papers stemming from a workshop held on the subject of primary care. It was intended to further the public dialogue about primary care by focusing on those health professionals currently viewed as physician substitutes in the primary care arena. It was designed to answer myriad questions about the education, training, supply, demand, and practice patterns of physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
