Some aspects of the farm labor situation discussed in this bulletin include: (1) the proportion of labor performed by the farm operator and his family, compared with hired labor; (2) seasonal demands for labor; (3) the relation of farm size to labor efficiency; (4) unit labor needs for different types of farms; and (5) the concentration of production and hired labor on certain groups of farms. Findings in this report are based on information obtained in a nationwide survey enumerated in 1965 based on 1964 farm operations.
