This children's book (also available in Spanish) was created to raise awareness about diabetes in the Hispanic community. It is designed for parents and children aged six or older as a starting point for family discussions about diabetes, including how to prevent its complications. The importance of healthy living habits is also emphasized. It's three main themes are: 1) Diabetes is a controllable disease; 2) It is important to establish healthy eating habits; and 3) exercise or physical activity is good for your health.
