Occupational Safety and Health Hazards in Agriculture: A Review of the Literature

Author: Meridian Research, Inc.
Date Published: 1994

Since passage of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in 1993, the United States, Canada, and Mexico have been working together to improve the health and safety of workers on both sides of the border. To that end, representatives from the three countries have met to develop and refine an Action Plan for coordinating tripartite activities in the area of workplace safety and health. One of the activities being conducted by OSHA is this review of the literature on safety and health hazards in agriculture. The body of this report is organized into sections, based on the type of hazard or agent causing the adverse health effects.
