Farmworkers face many occupational dangers while working in the fields. One of the most prevalent problems are eye injuries. Fortunately, most injuries to the eye are preventable. Yet another eye problem experienced by farmworkers is Pterygium. Through education and the implementation of basic safety precautions, workers can avoid the discomfort of eye problems and the difficulty of accessing health care. Implementing an Eye Care Safety Program will certainly make an impact on reversing high incidences of preventable eye injuries and conditions.
