This issue of Farmworker News features four articles. The first article, "Pesticide Safety," explains what pesticides are and where they may be encountered. Tips are offered to protect against exposure to pesticides, including proper clothing when working near pesticides, and tips are offered to help in case of exposure to pesticides. The second article, 'Ten Tips to protect Children from Pesticide and Lead Poisonings Around the Home," offers simple steps to take to prevent lead and pesticide poisoning at home. The third article, "Heat Related Conditions," discusses the dangers of working in the heat, and describes the symptoms of heat stroke and heat exhaustion. Tips to prevent heat-related illnesses are offered. The fourth article, "Thirteen Workers Killed In Traffic Accident," recounts the tale of an accident that killed thirteen migrant farmworkers, and offers tips to prevent similar accidents in the future.
