This issue of Farmworker News features three articles, a pesticide information panel, and a cartoon, "La Familia Chavez." The first article, "Shots Are Great!" explains the function of vaccines--how they work and why. It discusses the importance of maintaining a vaccination record, and describes common diseases vaccination prevents, like tetanus and Hepatitis B. The following article, "Just for Men: Prostate Cancer," describes prostate cancer, risk behaviors and symptoms associated with prostate cancer. It encourages readers to get checked for prostate cancer. The third article, "Family Violence" discusses the effects of family abuse on a child, and emphasizes the need for those in an abusive relationship to protect themselves. Included are six tips to help women and others in abusive relationships get help and protect themselves.
