Migrants and Seasonal Farmworkers

Author: Office of Economic Opportunity
Date Published: 1971

This report is a section of a larger report, 1969 Report of the Committee on Labor and Public Welfare from the U.S. Senate, and provides a general review of the operations of the Office of Economic Opportunity in dealing with migratory farmworkers over the past four years. It describes the OEO farmworker program, noting that it provides for a variety of services to seasonal farmworkers and migrants and reaches the entire family. The stated objectives of the OEO Farmworker program include meeting the problem of increasing job displacement, providing community stability, broadening the base of resources, providing temporary housing, day care and more. The rest of the report is an appendix of U.S. migrant demographics.
