Oral Health Status of Children of Migrant Farmworkers in North Carolina

Author: DeBerry-Sumner, Betty J.
Date Published: 1988

A research protocol on oral health status of migrant children, submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the certificate of Dental Public Health Residency. There are no available data on the oral health conditions of children of migrant farmworkers in North Carolina and limited data available descending the oral health status of migrant children in other states. National and statewide dental surveys conducted during the early 1970's have reported a significant decline in dental caries among U.S. children. This decline is due primarily to dlouridated community water supplies, school based flouride programs, use of flouridated dentifrice, and the use of dental sealants.
