Author: Good, Mary Ellen
Date Published: 1990

Masters thesis which identifies the health needs of migrant children as they enter kindergarten and discusses implications for school nursing practice. Using a descriptive study design, data was collected regarding abnormal findings of health examinations provided by the state of California's Child Health and Disability Prevention program to a sample of migrant children as they registered for school entry in the fall of 1990. The data indicated that the major abnormalities identified by the health examinations were dental problems, obesity, lack of immunizations, and anemia.
