Farmworker Pesticide Safety Training Program, Part I: Leaders Guide

This instructional package in pesticide safety is designed for English and Spanish speaking farmworkers. However, this package teaches general pesticide safety and could be adapted for use in vocational agriculture classes and extension programs. Its purpose is to teach general pesticide safety rules, how to recognize signs and symptoms of pesticide poisoning, first aid treatment, and how to be safe from pesticide exposure on the job and at home. The unit of instruction is divided into three slide-tape programs with supplemental instructional material for each program. These are: Part I, Introduction and the Label; Part II, First Aid and Prevention; and Part III, Daily Living with Pesticides. This leader's guide is written in a step-by-step format, covering background information on each section for the leaders' use, materials needed and teaching - learning activities. It was written in this manner in hopes that any comfortable in delivering the material.
