Reports on a project in North Carolina that used staff trained migrant farmworker women as lay health advisors to expand mothers' knowledge and practices of maternal-child care and community resources. The purpose was to improve the health status and to increase utilitzation of perinatal and child health services within the migrant farmworker population in North Carolina. The report looks at a study conducted on the effeciveness of the project and recommendationsfor improving the health and knowledge of migrant farmworkers.
